AFR is
the dryer working on the well known principle
of air percussion.
The air motion causes an ondulation and a simultaneous widening of the
knitted fabrics, thus allowing the dimensional shrinkage and the selvedge
expansion.
It may be used for different kinds of fabrics:
- knitted goods (open or tubular)
- woven goods
- elastic fabrics
- synthetic, natural or mixed goods.
The fabric travels inside the chamber, between two conveyor belts, and
it is normally overfed to allow its length shrinkage. The conveyors are
driven and centered by a photocell automatically controlled device. The
fabric extraction is achieved by means of a plaiter, the speed of which
is synchronized with the conveyors.
Every section is modular and fitted with an air recirculation system consisting
of a motor, an impeller and a blower with special air blades, removable
for cleaning and maintenance, and an exhausted air control for a better
heat performance.
Temperature adjustment is independent of every drying section.
Air heating is achieved by means of steam or thermo oil radiators; the
machine may be alternatively equipped with direct gas burners.
The dryer may have a single or a double passage.
Every dryer is fitted with an electrical board managing all the master
controls, including a supervising PLC and a panel to set speed, overfeeding,
temperatures of the single sections, fans operation and burners functions.

UPPER
SECTION:
Air is heated also in this area.
In this way it is assured a better performance of the machine which duplicates
the fabric content and consequently the treatment times, by giving the possibility
to use better the machine and the installed/used calories.
LOWER SECTION:
The fabric drying and shrinkage take place basically in this area, where 2 conveyors,
air blades and filters are situated.
Shrinkage is assured by a special adjustable airflow.
Each section is equipped with two motorfans, at variable speed, controlled by
inverters, in order to :
- improve hot air distribution
- make temperature uniform
- increase productivity.
The new AFR has new drying sections 3,2 mt long versus traditional 2
mt. length. Drying time is so 60% longer and production speed is therfore increased
by the same ratio.
The air speed can exceed 30 mt/sec and the special design of the ducts
reduces to the minimum the loading loss.
MODULARITY:
Every section is 3 ,2 mt long and contains 32 air blades: 16 over and 16 below
the fabric.
The blades are properly designed and realized to improve the drying action.
Nozzles and air blades assure a perpendicular flow to the fabric cloth.
MAINTENANCE:
Filters and air blades are easily detachable for cleaning which is frequently
necessary above all with cotton fabrics.
Ease of entry reduces time of maintenance in a significant way.
